Good evening fellow Iron Roaders.

Looking for somebody to shed some light on Wolverhampton Driver depot with Avanti if possible please!

Looking at earliest book on, latest book off, variety in work over the course of the roster and the how the working week falls with AWC.

Many thanks in advance!

It's worth noting that Shrewsbury won't be on the route card for much longer!

Wolverhampton Drivers depot for Avanti West Coast

Old school link progression, start off in Link 4

Currently a 25 line roster consisting of extreme earlies, extreme lates, a week of rostered nights, some middle shifts (well, 1 currently starting at 10:11), some weeks of spare and a week of rest days at every 5th week.

Earliest start: 03:59
Latest finish: 03:04

Night shifts: Once every 25 weeks,

Spare weeks: a few weeks of spare however where unlimited spare movements ere possible but generally if you are, for example: a week of early spare then generally you will be kept on early shifts for that week. Your rest day can be changed that week for business needs whether you cover a line of work or not (more detail in T&Cs)

Traction: Class 390 only (Subject to change with Hitachi class 805 introduction) but as it stands currently you will go into Link 4 signing Pendos only.

Routes for qualified drivers: London Euston to Preston via Northampton and Weedon (also known as the "old road") to Preston via both Trent Valley and Birmingham west midlands. Diversions "round the back" of Birmingham via Grand Junction (Stetchford to Bushbury including Bescot, Aston, soho bank and heath town)
The stabling and maintenance depot you will sign is Oxley only.

Note re: routes - Wembley relief lines (Between Wembley and Harlesden Junction, Willesden) are signed by Euston drivers only.

Class 221 and associated X-City, Lichfield Chord (Alrewas line from Burton to Lichfield Trant Valley) and Central Rivers work will be lost with introduction of Class 805 hitachis, currently only links 2 and 3 at Wolves will sign these but with class 807s on the horizon too, this may change.

As mentioned already the limited Shrewsbury route will be also lost in June 2024 TT change which only Links 2 and 3 sign.

Hope this helps.
