What do you know about this station they are planning to make? Will it be on the GEML or a branch line? Which trains will stop at it etc.

As far as I've heard it will be on the mainline and will be called Chelmsford Parkway. Looking forward to it being built, its an exciting time for Chelmsford generally

Would I be right, then, in thinking not much happens in Chelmsford?

It's been 'planned' for at least 20 years. I wouldn't count any chickens...

When we first had the 360's they did numerous trips carrying out brake tests for the 'Park', they also have
"Beaulieu Park' on the destination blinds ready for when it opens

And we joked that the driver that did the timing tests will be long retired before it opens. Well he is long retired, one only hopes he will be alive to see it open.

Wonder if the Invitation To Tender for the new GA franchise will mention anything. Such a station would have a profound effect on the GEML timetable.

I was driving in the area yesterday afternoon at about 4.30 pm, the roads were very busy then, with long tail backs. This station is desperately needed.

If the local council have not secured funds from Countryside Propertiesfrom this latest development I would be very disappointed, they have been promised the funds for each subsequent development for the last 30 years. They are being allowed to build very profitable low density housing on a greenfield site..
