Before the Clapham Junction/East Croydon service was cut back, what was platform 10 at Watford Junction used for?

To be honest the thread title says pretty much what I want to ask, but for decorum's sake I shall flesh it out a bit - platform 10 is a bay platform at Watford Junction. The current hourly Southern service that terminates there is basically wot uses it.

My historical understanding - which may be totally wrong - is that this platform has been there for ages yet said service used to continue further up the WCML. So what was it mostly used for? There is undoubtedly a use case for a Watford-Bushey(?)-Harrow-Euston service but not much of one... and I can't think what else would?

There had from time to time always been some peak London Euston to Watford Junction services on the main line which used the turnback.

A look at the 1991 timetable shows 0742, 0802 and 0825 services from Watford Junction to Euston, and 1642 and 1735 trains in the opposite direction.

Southern and London Northwestern Railway both used it for trains terminating at Watford Junction before the Southern service was cut short all day.

I seem to remember that, when waiting for the 17:19 at South Hampstead, there was a Tring train and also a Watford train. This would have been 2021-22.

Many years ago it was the St Albans branch platform. I guess it was replaced when the car park was extended, although I have no idea when that was.
