I'm booking a seat on the 0820 southbound XC Voyager from Aberdeen and would like a sea view.

Is coach A usually the leading coach south? If so, that should mean that the lower seats on the diagram are looking east over the sea. Am I right?

What's a good seat number on a Voyager to get the best window view?

The train could be either way round. Why not reserve any seat and if you don't like it just move to an empty unreserved one

Also to add to what signallerscot has said, I believe this train is usually (but not guaranteed to be) a 5-car, meaning that you should have the addition of coach B, which I think would be unreserved, unless Cross Country have extended the 10 min reservations to it?

XC has had a seat selector when booking via its own website for a fair while. Useful when doing split tickets to ensure you remain in the same seat [and to avoid the table seat in coach D which has a lovely view of plastic]

I think it is D53 which is the best table seat in coach D.
