Will be travelling this route between Birmingham New St to Solihull in the near future.
A few queries.
Is the walking route between Moor St and New st Safe, Well marked and fairly level?
I will be on a day out and back within a couple of hours, are the trains fairly frequent.
At a ceremony around 12.00 in Solihull.
Will be on the 07.44 ex York due 10.07 returning on the 16.03 ex New St due York 18.30

Thanks in advance.

In terms of frequency, it's normally 2 stoppers an hour run by West Midlands Trains and 1 or 2 Chiltern services an hour which are non-stop to Solihull from Moor Street.

Yes it is. The most important thing is to find the right pedestrian exit from New Street. When you get up from the platform and exit the barriers into the first concourse level, look for the pedestrian exits marked to "Bullring". The walking route to Moor St should be signposted too.

The walking route to Moor Street passes under landmark white metal arch on the right of the cylindrical Rotunda building in this Streetview image:

Three options,
Quickest is through the road tunnel under the Bullring - cross the Queensway towards Boots and then stay on the right hand side of the road, cross over towards Moor street at the other end of the tunnel
Second is to turn left at the Queensway towards the bus stops, take the steps/ramp to the left just before the tunnel, cross the square and go back down the other side opposite to come out opposite Moor Street station
Third is to cross the Queensway and go through the Bullring shopping centre itself, when it’s open. Go down one level at the first escalators you come to and head towards Selfridges where the exit to Moor Street is just to the left of the store entrance.

All perfectly safe, and while the tunnel is the quickest and the flattest route, it’s not the most glamorous!

Chiltern have a couple videos showing the route (going above the tunnel rather than through it, although not the best quality in showing starting location from New Street):

This one seems good albeit is in reverse (through the tunnel):

If you go up one level at New Street via escalator you can walk all the way via the shopping centre, over the Queensway, past M&S, down another escalator and walk the length of the shopping centre to exit opposite Moor St station. It's all well lit and there are security guards around the shopping centre. It'll be busy but safe. A stroll takes less than 10 mins. NB: this route is best if it's icy or snowy.
