Hi,

I commute to MKC from BHM and currently have an any permitted season ticket.

When it comes to renewal I wasn't sure if a Network West Midlands Zones 1-5 plus Rugby annual ticket and then a season ticket from Rugby to Milton Keynes would be valid on trains that don't stop at Rugby?

Also if it is valid am I likely to have to justify my ticket to the train manager on a regular basis?

Thanks in Advance,

I would say it is valid as the RUG-BHM portion of the journey is using a PTE product.

For the first question, yes it is valid for the reason 185143 stated.

Second question, no one really knows tbh. It depends on the individual guard you encounter and it may be a case of buying a weekly to start with and seeing how you get on in that week before committing to a longer-term ticket.

Your ticket may be valid (I'm sure it is if bb21 says so), however be aware that you will be travelling on Virgin. There are multiple occasions in the last month or so on this forum where similarly valid tickets have been denied by Virgin train managers, and while you may eventually plead your case and win, you will be opening yourself up for grief. If you're up for a fight, that's great, join the bus, but be aware that some Virgin managers (by no means all, in fact it might even be a solitary one), and the person in charge of Virgin's barrier crews at Euston and some of his staff, have issues with understanding the conditions of carriage. While of course in a court case they are in your favour, you should be aware that you

Getting a confirmation in writing from Virgin and separate confirmation from LM, and carrying these with you, should certainly help your case if a difficult (but rare) train manager does stop you.
