Is there any good places to eat near Penzance rail station at about 8am? Also it would have to be a place that would accept a under 16.

Thanks I think I will go there. Is there a supermarket near by like Tesco or Asda?

There's a 'greasy spoon' type cafe pretty much between the bus and rail stations in Penzance.

Yes. There's a Tesco Express, a Co-Op and a Poundland nearby.

Further afield there is also a Tesco Superstore, which can be found here

Also a Morrisons slightly further on from the Tesco and now a Sainsbury's between the two, on the old heliport site.

I've been there; it's right outside the station and I'd recommend it. I'm certainly eating there again next time I'm in Penzance...

Another vote for the greasy spoon opposite the station. He's always busy in there though. It is a "portacabin" style building, but always top notch.

Is the cafe on the station still open? I ate there two years ago and that was very nice it was just at the bottom of the platforms under the trainshed.

Also a Morrison's and Sainsburys short walk/on bus routes from station if either float your boat ! Used to be a nice cafe at top of Wharf shopping centre but not been in for couple of years - we tend to head for breakfast at Lamorna Cove off the Night Riveria.

Here's another vote for the greasy spoon! We went there a couple of years ago and it was fine. We also had a fabulous hot pasty on the main street during another visit to the town. But I don't think I'd want a pasty at 0800!

I've had several good breakfasts at the station cafe next to the booking office - reasonably priced too!

Thanks, I might try the Greasy Spoon. Instead of starting a new topic, does anyone know what food is like on the FGW Sleeper? Things like bacon baps?

Assuming it's the same as on the HSTs, the bacon baguettes are amazing. Not cheap at £4.50 but well worth the ching!
