Brookside Garden Centre Railway to close in its present form

You may not have heard that the miniature railway at the Brookside Garden Centre in Poynton will operate for the last time (in its present guise) on Sunday 2nd September. The present operator of the railway has been given notice to quit by the owners of the garden centre. The railway’s present rolling stock and the large collection of railway relics and memorabilia will be removed from the site (the relics are to be auctioned off). The garden centre plans to refurbish the railway and let it to a new operator. The railway is one and a half miles from Hazel Grove station.
