Can more Frecciarossa 1000 be used for international services?

Knowing that there will be an international service from Munich-Milan/Rome using Frecciarossa 1000, do you think it is possible to start a Vienna-Graz-Klagenfurt-Villach-Venice-Milan/Rome service or even Zurich-Milan-Rome/Verona-Venice service using ETR1000?

Zurich Rome could work
Vienna to Italy could work when the Semmering tunnel is built

But the issue could be how slow the non Italian side is, it's already 7 hours from Vienna to Venice, how long would a Rome service be?

What if to Slovenia/Croatia?

Croatia might be difficult as it's already hard enough from Austria to get there.

For Slovenia, there's a train from Trieste to the capital of Slovenia (I can't spell it) and there are already the odd Frecciarossa to Trieste so you could extend some trains into Slovenia. Like from Milan as a start.

What could be interesting is Marseille to Rome via Nice and Ventigmilia as that would be a Very popular summer train, especially for interraillers. I myself did Rome to Nice which took 10 hours so a Frecciarossa train would be great there

FR 1000 already reaches Paris via 1.5kV DC, so no reason it can't reach Marseille.
But you need capacity which might not be available via Ventimiglia, and some agreement to operate (jointly with SNCF or separately).
Routes using new capacity on high speed lines with ETCS are much more likely (hence Vienna and Munich when the new lines/tunnels are finished.
But by then FR 1000 will be old hat.

France has the tgv agreement with Spain/Germany so it's possible for Italy.
But capacity would be needed as you mentioned and I don't think an 8 car can provide that. You would need the next gen of rolling stock with a few extra coaches/seats, possibly the new tgvs as some are supposed to do 9 cars but till then, people will probably just be on the old stopper across the border

From memory FS Italiane Group announced last December that they planned a Madrid - Paris service as extension of Spanish services from December 2024.

I think they also mentioned looking at a route from Spain to Milan too

Don't know train types proposed though

Can ETR1000s run on 15kV AC? If not that rules out running to Austria or Switzerland.

Ljubljana could work but it’s difficult to see any justification for these units to run there.
