Hello all.

As part of the day job I have the joyous privilege of taking 60+ 18 and 19 year olds to Amsterdam (what could possibly go wrong?).

Could anyone please confirm - is the 1 / 2 / or 3 day Amsterdam Travel Ticket available to purchase at Sloterdijk station?

Many thanks,

James

Great, thanks. We don't need airport transfers, a bus will deposit us at our hotel near Sloterdijk.

You can even buy it at the GWK at Schiphol Airport (maybe not all).

From the GVB website (dutch):
Naast deze GVB verkooppunten wordt de dagkaart en soms ook meerdaagse varianten verkocht bij diverse hotels, campings en overige instellingen, de VVV kantoren in Amsterdam en GWK vestigingen in Amsterdam en op Schiphol.

To clarify, a bus transfer will drop our group off at the hotel near Sloterdijk. We are only concerned with being able to buy the 5 day ticket at Sloterdijk station, nowhere else.

The Holiday Inn Express hotel at Sloterdijk station sells the GVB tickets. May be easier to buy 60 tickets there rather than from the Metro TVM.

Thanks for the tip, although I'm going to save myself the hassle and instruct them to buy their tickets themselves :)

there are such tickets for 1-2-3 days and they cost 16/21/26 eur. Its likely easiest to simply (let them) buy them at the NS desk at that station-closes fairly early in evenings.
Note that there are also cheaper GVB-ONLY tickets for 24/48/72 etc. hrs-buy from Metro machines, NOT valid on trains. As most foreign people seem to think one has to go to central first-this is utter nonsense, there are direct trams from Sloterdijk to centre of town (the 12).
Note that since 1/1/17 there is also a larger-area version for both trains and bus as Amsterdam REGION ticket, 1/2/3 days is 18,50/29/33 eur, valid as far as Zandvoort aan zee and Lelystad by train- worthwhile for train-bashers.
