Hi. Needing to make the above 1 way journey on 9th Feb with a traveling companion. I would if solo usually go by coach but partner not a good coach traveler. We will have the above day travelcards and a DSB Railcard and can travel off peek and are mainly interested in cost not speed. Any ideas clever ticketing people? Thanks in advance.↲

As a fan of Boundary Zone tickets, I'd point you to an Off Peak Boundary Zone 6 to Stansted Airport Single which is £8.45 with a railcard, to use in conjunction with your paper Travelcard. You don't have to worry about where the train does or doesn't call with this ticket.

A word of warning though, if you consider doing the reverse journey, do not buy the Off Peak Stansted Airport to Boundary Zone 6 Single which is £10.50 with a railcard. Instead, buy an Off Peak Boundary Zone 6 to Stansted Airport Day Return which is £8.50 with a railcard, and just use the return portion!

For some reason, Boundary Zone singles are often more expensive than the "reverse" return ticket.

You can use Stansted Express throughout with those tickets.

There are no evening restrictions, just a morning restriction (no travel before 0930)

I don't see why not, since both your Travelcard and the Boundary Zone ticket have Any Permitted status. I use this kind of ticket combination on the Gatwick Express without any problems whatsoever, whereas named station splits would lead to all sorts of problems.

None, as far as I can see from brfares, as the Boundary Zone ticket's restriction code of B1 has a simple "after 09:30" rule.
