Good morning

I've got a 6 min connection tomorrow, it looks easy enough from the platform map if I get in the front coach of the unit but any actual information on this would be appreciated

Should be very simple, just walk forward as far as the buffers, turn left and you’re there.

Sit at the front of the front coach. On arrival, get off, walk around the front of the train and you're there - 15 metres max. ;)

Assuming you're on time and the other train is behind yours, such is the signalling at Crewe, once your train arrives on 7, it has to be a minimum of 90 seconds before a train can arrive on 11.

Platforms change at Crewe a lot. Be aware of this, and check the NRE app or the screen as you pass it.

3 minutes as its the headway, trains using 7 use the same piece of track as those using 11.

Officially, that's less than the Minimum Connection Time required at Crewe (= 10 minutes). However, platform 7 to platform 11 at Crewe is a change from a train arriving at a bay platform to another one using a through platform, and both are on the same big island platform in the middle of the station, meaning no stairs or lift is required.

Thanks I'm aware hence the question as to the practical transfer between those 2 platforms. I've a flexible ticket for the second leg so no drama if it doesn't work for any reason

Presumably you are changing between WMT services (Euston-Crewe and Birmingham-Liverpool)?
These trains chase each other down the WCML from Stafford, the Crewe terminator on the fast and the Liverpool on the slow (nominally).
Oddly they are both given essentially the same 20 minutes.
You could also change at Stafford and over the bridge P3 to P5, but its only 4 minutes and Crewe looks to be safer (and level).
It's also a day when the XC Birmingham-Manchester services, which normally go via Stoke, are diverted via Crewe (not calling) because of engineering work.
So congestion possible at Crewe.
Best to watch RTT on the day.
