Got a trip to North Wales planned for tomorrow but just remembered by Family & Friends railcard has expired, I've renewed it via Trip.com as they have a sale on at the moment but in order to activate it, I need to book a train ticket...

I have my tickets for tomorrow already and no upcoming trips that I need to book tickets for, so, what would be the cheapest ticket I could buy to activate it?

I've done a search on here and found Lelant - Lelant Saltings to be a contender, coming in at under £2, any other suggestions?

Does it care what you buy? Child's single from LIC to LTV (as above) would be my usual go-to. Of course, you shouldn't have to buy anything at all to activate a Railcard..

Good call, it can be any ticket, so child ticket will do the trick!

65p Lichfield City - Trent Valley.

I agree, shouldn't have to, but it is what it is, I'm still saving over £5 compared to buying it directly from the official Railcard website.
