Class 154

Hey guys

I've been having a look through flickr and I came across a picture of 154001. Fine, I know it existed... however I then came across 154002... is this the same unit or different or what?

IIRC, they're now 150001 and 150002.

I thought that only 150002 became a 154 though? That's what confused me. Is this not the case?

All the Sprinter prototypes were renumbered to prevent confusion. 150002 became 154001 on modification and then later renumbered to 154002. The two Cl151s became 151003 and 151004.

So 150001 stayed as 150001 and 150002 became 154001 then 154002?

That's as I understand it - I had a (short!) trip on 154002 in 1989 or 1990, but when I got home and looked in Locomotives and Coaching Stock 1989, it was still down as 154001.
