Colindale station on the Northern Line will be closed from June until December while the station entrance and stairs to the platforms are rebuilt.
I understand that no replacement buses will serve Colindale during this period. the alternative routes involving service buses are likely to add significant time to journeys.
Does anyone know if the frequency of the normal service buses such as the 303 will be enhanced during the closure? The 303 is currently very busy especially around school times so would not have much capacity to take many extra passengers from Colindale to Mill Hill Broadway station to use Thameslink as an alternative.
It takes about 40 minutes to walk to Hendon station but the walk is not that pleasant as the shortest route goes down the main Edgware Road.

During the summer when the weather is good I’d probably walk from Burnt Oak (approx 20 mins) but this route goes through a park and would not be attractive at 5pm in November.

The RAF museum will be badly impacted as walking from Colindale station (or taking the 303) is the main public transport route to access it.

Been pretty chaotic with the total closure of the Northern Line between Golders Green and Edgware this week

A TfL spokesperson said: “We apologise to customers who were left waiting for longer than expected for rail replacement buses at the start of the 10-day part closure of the Northern line between Golders Green and Edgware.

“There were a number of factors that resulted in fewer buses operating than scheduled at the start of the closure period, but this has improved.

TfL are looking to run additional services between Grahame Park and Hendon Central on the 186 bus route, which may help slightly.

It will also double the cost for some people having to pay a tube and bus journey rather than one tube journey. Seems unfair.
