Daughter is travelling back to London today on the return portion of a London Euston to Crewe Super Off Peak Return WMR + LNR Only. She's booked on the 20:38 but would like to go earlier. I can't see which trains this is valid on - can anyone help - LMR website is confusing in its wording.
If it's the Super Off-Peak Return, costing £36 (£23.75 with a Railcard), which your daughter holds then the restriction is
code LF.
Therefore she could take the 14:33 or 15:33 - after that the next valid train would be the 19:33 changing at Rugby or Northampton. However, due to the connection time at Rugby/Northampton and the fact that you're going via Northampton and stopping more, this itinerary only gets her into Euston 26 mins before the arrival of the 20:38. It's a frustrating gap in the otherwise hourly service.
The alternative would be to pay the excess to the Off-Peak Return, which would permit travel on any service. The excess would be £10.50, or £6.90 with a Railcard. This excess could be paid on the train (without penalty) if your daughter so wishes.
