Hi,

Recently applied for a CSA station role at Avanti West Coast in Cumbria.

Does anyone have an tips or advice in regards to the interview? I believe they use an online video style interview which is pre-recorded.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these LaunchPad Recruit interviews and what questions you would possibly face.

Kind Regards

There should be a search function on the forum. Maybe search CSA in the absence of any responses. Hope this helps. Welcome to the Rail UK forums by the way!

Avanti will send you an e-mail link that you usually have 48/72 hours to reply to. It is a on-line video interview exercise where you are asked at least two maybe three interview style questions.

You do get a 'warm up' question to begin with where you can re-record you answer to see how you come across on screen. Each question gives you a ten second 'thinking' time to come up with a suitable answer.

Once you do go into the main questions, you do not have the benefit of re-recording your answers. Your answers are timed to around two minutes, so you need to keep them proportionate in length without losing time.

I would also make sure you wear something formal, like a shirt/tie to ensure you come across as professional and chose a suitable location and time to take part in the video.

I would advise doing it in the middle of the daytime at home, when the rest of the household is out and make sure you cannot be distracted by the doorbell or the family pet.

Good luck.
