May I recommend a visit to Gays Bakery whilst you're waiting!

The best cakes and pastries I have ever had!

My wife and I were in Dawlish for two weeks in summer in 2009, using it as a touring base. I remember a bakery with an attached shop called Gays Creamery in Brunswick Place, that had tables and chairs outside on hot days. It served excellant ice cream, which was just what was needed.

I asked my wife and she asked me to also mention the clotted cream, plus the cakes and pasties made in their own bakery. Just goes to show that you never forget a really good cafe.

Hope you all have a good time there this year.

+1 for a visit to Gays Creamery, I had a Cornish Pasty there and it filled me up for the day!

Until recently I worked in Dawlish, it was tough having to go to Gays Creamery for lunch all the time. I recommend the Homity pie
Watch out though, the seagulls like them too!

Gays Creamery is announced on board as one of the must see attractions of Dawlish by a certain guard. There's no confirmed timings out yet for the tours on the 25th June unfortunately.
