On a day with Engineering works, meaning that there is an amended timetable and rail replacement buses are in operation:

Would a delay to a rail replacement bus lead to delay repay being payable?

Presumably this would be relative to the amended timetable, right?

Are rail replacement buses included in a timetable - if so, where could one access those?

If no delay repay would be payable, why not?

If rail replacement buses aren't inlcuded in any timetables, how would one determine what their intended arrival time is?

National Rail Enquiries journey planner times seem to include times for RRBs so this must be to some sort of schedule. I would think that delays beyond those times given with the RRB would be subject to Delay - Repay eligibility.

EMR often publish a pdf timetable for the whole day with the RRBs shown and their running times. Not sure if all TOCs do this, probably not.

Not sure where you can get the RRB times after the event has ended.

Ideally I would like to avoid relying on journey planners exclusively after I have run into issues of it being impossible to produce an itinerary that meets TOC restrictions, despite there being trains and RRBs that do meet this restriction

Thank you, that is really helpful! I've been able to find them for Avanti in the past as well, but for WMT/LNWR/WMR, if they exist they've hidden them so well that I can't find them!

On my 2 cases of claiming delay repay for a rail replacement, Northern originally denied both, I appealed both with a similar message for each, one got accepted and the other got denied.

Usually times are avaliable for them if they're scheduled.

For scheduled engineering work all rail-replacement buses should be in the timetable data used by journey planners, and are then part of the published timetable.

The main exception is when rail ticket acceptance has instead been negotiated with the local bus company in its scheduled buses. Those will not be in the timetable data.

In such case how is the Delay Repay calculated for the through journey, as there isn't a valid itinerary at all? It also applies to other bus / train combined tickets, like the Thameslink line2line as well where an unscheduled bus transfer between two train legs is included in the fare.

I successfully claimed from TfW when my RRB journey was significantly delayed. In that case, I already had a saved itinerary that showed what time the RRB should have got me there. There were supposed to be two RRBs, a fast and a stopper, but in practice there was only a stopper, and that only went half way, where we had to wait for another one to finish the journey.
