What's the difference between RC (Remote Control) and CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) crossings ?

Is it CCTV could go to a local crossing operator. Whereas RC (still uses CCTV but) goes to a signaller ?

Both types are operated by a signaller or crossing keeper.

An RC crossing is limited to a maximum distance of 400 metres from the control point, and the operator must have a clear view of the crossing in normal weather conditions (there being no CCTV).

A CCTV crossing can be located many miles away from the control point. The operator uses the CCTV monitor to observe that the crossing is clear.

Reminder that it might be appropriate to explain the abbreviations for those members not in the know ;)
