As today, Friday 18th April, is a Bank Holiday this meant that the West Yorkshire Metro rail day rover would be valid all day as it is on Weekends. Normally on weekdays there is a 0930 start and a pause between 1600 to 1830 hours.
I therefore decided to give it a go starting at 0818 on the Castleford to Huddersfield route riding a 185 of TP.
in total I did 10 separate journeys on 4 different types of DMU and 2 types of EMU. I was back at my start point just before 1600 hours.I also visited 11 different stations
All the trains were clean inside and out. Three ticket checks on train and three at Stations.
And this all cost me the princely sum of £4.95 or less than 50pence a ride. Half price with a West Yorks senior pass.
I call that a good day out.
