Yes, two First GBRf 73s (expected to be different to the ones used on the Saturday) top and tailing 'Hastings' DEMU No. 1001.

So we'll just have to see both specials then ;)

From SWT webby:

Wonder how this will affect the tour. Hampton Court is not possible due to engineering works.

'Tis a pity about the loss of the Chessington leg, but this does give a lot more time for photos at Waterloo in the afternoon

Indeed it is. It also gives plenty of time for 66402 to be attached onto the country end of the railtour. It will be working the 1Z78 17:30 Waterloo - Hastings leg as far as Tonbridge. The 73s will be 'dead' inside/on the rear.

It has hit the dirt at Windsor, the track spread underneath the leading coach, leading bogie(s) off.

Tour cancelled.

It seems NR is going to answer some very serious questions regarding the infrastructure there as that's the second derailment in the last three months which has resulted in the derailment of a train.

Sorry to correct, but when I was at Windsor at 14:45 the front bogie was hanging off the rail, not actually derailed.

I thought all derailments resulted in the derailment of a train!!!:) LOL!:)

Seriously though, a bit of an epic fail chalked up today. A massive shame for all involved with this tour for a noble cause.

By definition: If a trains wheel is not on or in contact with the running rail, when it's out on the running line, it is classed as derailed.

Oh BTW ferret, the last derailment at W&E was a class 450, a unit that has only just been returned to service.
