Hey all,

Not sure if anyone can advise but I got a Eurostar ticket to France coming up soon. I booked a ticket as an adult yet I qualify (just) for a youth ticket as it’s like 12-25 which I am 25. My other half is 24 and she also got an adult ticket. Will we have any issues? I imagine we won’t get stopped even if we have adult tickets and we’re under the age?

And also I doubt this but if I informed them then would they accommodate and offer an exchange refund for the difference between youth and adult? I know that’s probably not possible but curious. My stupidity of not reading is my fault. Their support won’t get back to me after 2 weeks. Sorry if this is not okay to post.

I was under the impression that they had phased out the youth ticket. Or if they were still in the process of phasing them out they had priced them the same as adult tickets anyway.

But no, you won't be stopped for having an adult ticket at 25 years old because you are actually an adult.

I don't think Eurostar offer any Youth discount anymore. Certainly you will not have any problem travelling on an adult ticket as, in the worst case scenario, you have overpaid.

Incidentally, an Interrail pass could be a worthwhile option depending on your exact travel plans. It's somewhat frustrating using it in countries like France and on the Eurostar, as you will need to buy reservations for almost any train that isn't a regional service; however even when allowing for the cost of this, it can still offer savings.
