Quick enquiry please does a extended Manchester Wayfarer ticket allow tram travel to Bury? Cheers for any assistance.
Hello there is a smaller version of the wayfarer which only gives the central zones on the tram the extended one gives a larger area but not sure if it reaches Bury cheersThe TFGM Wayfarer covers all metrolink services.
I'm not sure what you mean by "extended".
Do you mean a Greater Manchester Rail Ranger at £7.70?Hello there is a smaller version of the wayfarer which only gives the central zones on the tram the extended one gives a larger area but not sure if it reaches Bury cheers
No on Railrovers UK it gives an extended one think its about £10 with railcard cheersDo you mean a Greater Manchester Rail Ranger at £7.70?
That allows Metrolink travel in the City Centre (in Zone 1 only).
Can you provide a link?No on Railrovers UK it gives an extended one think its about £10 with railcard cheers
Sorry l only just changed from a wind up phone old age does have it's disadvantagesCan you provide a link?
Maybe you could just type out the ticket description as showing on the site to which you mention, and the ticket price. (Although if you're posting on here, a weblink should usually be fairly easy to append).Sorry l only just changed from a wind up phone old age does have it's disadvantages
Probably give Metro Link a ring so they can confirm cheers for your help much appreciatedMaybe you could just type out the ticket description as showing on the site to which you mention, and the ticket price. (Although if you're posting on here, a weblink should usually be fairly easy to append).
It might well be, although don't think the GM Wayfarer product allows any Railcard discount as such.I think this is the ticket being referred to: http://www.railrover.org/pages/greater-manchester-wayfarer.html

That would accord with the price being £10.05. In which case, such a concessionary GM Wayfarer ticket does allow off peak travel to Bury Metrolink and lots of other possible destinations as well. Still not sure which alternative product(s) the OP is referring to as a "smaller version" of the Wayfarer, though.Perhaps confusing their ENCTS pass with a railcard?
Only thing that fits is this: http://www.railrover.org/pages/greater-manchester-rail-ranger.htmlStill not sure which alternative product(s) the OP is referring to as a "smaller version" of the Wayfarer, though.
Not on Bank Holidays or at weekends, but otherwise a very good point.Something to be aware of, the GM rail ranger and the system 1 tickets have an evening peak restriction on trains. The wayfarer does not.
If using buses in the valid area outside Greater Manchester make sure you have a Wayfarer leaflet or a screenshot on your phone proving that your ticket is valid, as many bus drivers are not aware that the Wayfarer is valid outside Greater Manchester…To summarise, day rail tickets in greater manchester.
GM rail ranger, £7.70 covers trains anywhere in greater manchester, railrover.org and an archived page on NRE claim it is also valid on the city zone of metrolink, but I could not corroborate this from any current official source. Has both morning and evening peak restrictions* https://tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/train-rail-ranger-adult
System 1 daysavers. Valid throughout greater manchester. £.8.20 for bus and train, £9.50 for train and metrolink, £10.40 for all modes. Morning peak restrictions* on busses and trams. Morning and evening peak restrictions on trains. https://www.systemonetravel.co.uk/travelcard-finder/?age=adult
Greater Manchester Wayfarer.£15.20, covers busses, trains and trams in all of greater Manchester plus some extensions outside the greater manchester area, mostly into the peak district. Note that the coverage area for busses is substaintially larger than for trains. Has morning peak restrictions on trains and trams but no evening ones. https://tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/wayfarer-adult
* Peak restrictions not not apply on weekends and bank holidays.
Indeed the excellent, but secretive, north Wales bus/rail rover ticket which is divided up into different pricing zones is a ticket you definitely need to carry details of validity with you!Not a bad shout that with most area-based multi-mode one day ranger tickets, not just those in the Greater Manchester area.
