It looks like Arriva are taking baby steps here. The draft agreement itself (link) shows two weekday trains to the airport (one on Saturday), and three back (two Sat.) in the main portion, and eight daily "additional" services. That's just under half the 20 trains to Piccadilly (21 back) that they run now.

move the class 158 to the heart of wales.

And what would XC use on their overcrowded CrossCountry services, most of which are longer than the marches?

Good to see ATW taking a sensible approach to the extension, rather than the "big bang" some TOCs try.

The only criticism I have is that a third TOC running between Manchester Airport and Picadilly means there's less justification for TPE running the Blackpool/ Barrow/ Scotland services, but that's another story for another thread...

158's are not permitted on the HOW line as passenger trains and why, have a 90mph train on the HOW when the maximum speed is 60.Of course VT and AXC have plenty of spare voyagers,I don't think so, not a really good idea of yours
