Farringdon - Liverpool Street: how long of a wait on the subsurface should I try to get an Elizabeth line train?

I entered Farringdon station planning to take a mainline train out of Liverpool Street 11 minutes later, which worked every time I tried this journey. Unfortunately today the departure board showed 4 minutes for the first eastbound tube, and on arrival of Liverpool Street I couldn't make the connection with less than a minute to spare in the evening peak (I consider having 2 full minutes to be safe to make the connection).

Would I have made the connection if I had immediately gone to the Elizabeth line instead of waiting for 4 minutes for a tube train?

The time you would have saved by catching the Lizzy would have been easily lost in the walk at Liverpool Street from Lizzy to mainline, especially if busy

Minimum connection time upon arrival at London Liverpool Street is, I believe, officially 15 minutes, so what the OP proposes seems a tad ambitious (whilst noting that Farringdon to Liverpool Street is ostensibly only a two minute journey, with normally just a three minute interval between Elizabeth Line services).

I don't expect a wait of more than 2 minutes in the evening peak for a tube train, and I'm squeezing every precious minute out of my commute (which hopefully will end this week and replaced by one to Kentish Town instead). Missing the mainline train will result in a 7-minute wait for the next one.
