First Group TOC Friends and Family tickets,

Looking for some advice. New to the sector and coming up to 6 months in with Avanti. Am I correct in thinking I will be able to buy First F&F tickets from the staff portal? To use on First TOC, Is there a limit to the journey as myself and 3 friends are planning on travelling to Southampton from Doncaster? Am I correct I can buy a ticket to cover Hull trains into London and then SWR down to Southampton, then the same on the return? As I don't have access to the staff portal yet, the travel will be after my 6 months. Can anyone confirm this is correct and the cost? Plus, any travel restrictions I need to be aware off. Thank you in advance.

Being an Avanti employee, is this just for First TOCs or do you also get these for other Trenitalia TOCs (currently c2c only)?

Do Avanti employees get any travel perks from Trenitalia ?

You book them through firstmyrewards.com, the restrictions are all advised when booking and will be stated on the PDF document you receive. :D
You would need a separate one for SWR and then Hull trains, there are a couple of Hull trains services they can't be used on

HI @RPI Thank you for this, As per my question, I'm not 6 months yet, So i was hoping someone could help with these. As a group of friends, we are planning and at the moment we are driving, However, I'm aware of this staff travel benefit not the conditions of travel.

I could be wrong, But I believe it is just to be First.

The website says that you can travel with up to an additional 4 people on any SWR, GWR, AWC, HT or TPE (only in England) service.

For your journey in particular on Hull Trains and SWR:

For Hull Trains
You can purchase up to 8x 1 Day Rover tickets for Hull Trains at £12 per adult (£6 per child) for the year

For SWR
You can purchase up to 48x 1 Day Rover Tickets for SWR at £6 per adult (£3 per child). (These can be purchased for use on AWC, GWR, SWR and TPE individually)

  • Journeys arriving at London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Queenstown Road and Clapham Junction between 08:00 and 09:30 inclusive (no restrictions if the passenger alights prior to Clapham Junction).
  • Journeys departing London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Queenstown Road and Clapham Junction between 17:00 and 19:00 inclusive (no restrictions if the passenger boards after Clapham Junction).
  • The restrictions only apply to weekday travel - no time restrictions on Saturdays, Sundays or English bank holidays.

Don't forget, if you're travelling around the west you can buy the combined SWR/GWR day rover for a tenner.

Wish I had some sadly I only know Northern staff and I really appreciate the northern friends and family codes it becomes a bit boring due to same traction and I’ve done all the routes and haulage on all northern classes

FirstGroup Family & Friends tickets can only be used when travelling with the staff member, unlike Northern Family & Friends tickets.
