Hi all,
I'm off to London this Saturday for the Heathrow express depot open day. After going to that I want to clear the met line for bashing by doing the Chesham and Watford branches. I'll be coming from Gerrards Cross so I am wandering is it possible to get a zone 1-9 travel card from Gerrards Cross?

Thanks in advance

It's certainly possible for them to sell one by putting Amersham as the origin, but you'd also need a Return from Gerrards X to Boundary Zone 6.

Do come to Acton Depot Open Weekend as well if you can, there is a shuttle bus being provided from there to/from Old Oak Common. I'm not sure what, but the vintage buses will be running their normal tours.

Agreed.

Ask for:
*An Amersham (or Bushey, etc) to Zones 1-6 Off Peak Day Travelcard (ODT) and
*A Gerrards Cross to Boundary Zone 6 Off Peak Day R (CDR).

So just making sure. Would that combination be valid for unlimited travel in London zones 1-9?

Yes. A Travelcard with the origin as Amersham will allow unlimited travel in London Zones 1-9, even though you're asking for an Amersham to Zones 1-6 ticket.

Also of note, I believe with this combination your train from Gerrards Cross - Marylebone needn't stop at West Ruislip, thanks to condition 19c?

The routeing is "AAA zones 7-9". No need to mention this when buying it.

You can't buy it on any website. You have to buy it from a ticket office. However you could tweet Chiltern and ask if they will accept a ticket to West Ruislip on a non-stop train; some Train Companies do allow this (some will even sell tickets to the appropriate named station when you ask for Boundary Zone 6)

Chiltern tend to be fairly generous with what they'll accept, at least with "ordinary" tickets. Indeed, sometimes it can be cheaper to buy a ticket from a named station rather than a boundary (e.g. Moor Park - Wendover returns are cheaper than Boundary Zone 6 - Wendover returns).
