Giving my PAYG Oyster to a friend to use

I have a PAYG Oyster card with auto top up that I use for on demand travel on the tube and bus in London. There are no season tickets etc on the card But it is registered in my name via the online service.

A friend of mine is coming to stay for a few days - can I give them the card for them to use to travel around London without either them or I fancy some form of penalty?

If you only have pay as you go credit on your Oyster card, you can lend it to someone else. Two people can't use the same contactless or Oyster card for a journey.

If you have a Travelcard, Bus & Tram Pass or discount added to your Oyster card, you can't lend it to someone else.
