I paid my first ever visit to the Gwili Railway on August 10 based on part of the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line.
Considering that the railway commenced operations in the late 1970s and was once the first standard gauge heritage railway in Wales expansion has been slow over the 8 mile track bed with the intention of reaching Abergwili Junction near Carmarthen in 2016.
However, it is an interesting railway with some interesting stock in particular the TPO carriage which is open to the public.
