Has this happened to all Hotmail users?

Logged off my Hotmail e-mail account last night.
Logged on this morning and the Hotmail name is nowhere to be seen.
It seems I am now the (unwilling) owner of an Outlook e-mail account with a slightly different layout and a different colour scheme.
Strange thing is, the actual e-mail address remains exactly the same.
It seems pointless to me and certainly not something I asked for.

Yes... I use hotmail for a number of different accounts - various groups i belong to and got lumbered with the changes a few weeks ago. I'll get used to it in due course.

I'm not sure what the problem is. It's just the same thing with a different name. You still have an @hotmail email address.

I don't use the website, I use Windows Live Mail, or the email function on my iPhone/iPad.

They have been emailing people about the changes for months now - did you not see them?

I only use the hotmal app on me tablet so the changes have not taken place.

Yes got changed and a few days later my password stopped working, thanks for nothing!

Yeah, it's happened to everyone. I import my email into gmail nowadays though so barely notice

No problem Bungle73 just annoying. My daughter in Leeds just told me via Facebook it happened to her as well without any of the notifications mentioned by Clip.
The best e-mail is a little known one gmx.com - seems to be totally independent but as security conscious as the brand names in e-mail.

I have my own domain name and route mail in and out of my Blueyonder (Virgin Media) email account

It happened to everyone. Now it works like Windows 8. The layout is similar to that of the Mail App built in in Windows 8.

This change happened for me a year ago, possibly as I have a vintage American hotmail account before the .UK was launched?

Hate it with a passion luckily i have gmail that receives all my hotmail emails.
