HGV jobs within the railway

Hello gents/women

Im a lorry driver and I have been since I was 18 I’m now 29 I’ve driven pretty much everything and everywhere but since I was a kid spotting on derby station I always been fascinated by the railway and diesel and I would love to work on the railway I would like to still drive trucks and I was wondering if anyone could help find companies to look out for that hire truck drivers but deliver to the railway only so I could be in the Industry but still do what I love

Have a look at some of the heavy plant providers, like ready power. One of their depots is by Ratcliffe power station.

If you fancy your hand at fuel, Sutton's have a contract to supply Chiltern Railways, as well as a fair bit of HS2 plant work. Closest depot to you would be Kingsbury.

Freightliner regularly recruit for LGV drivers at their various intermodal terminals. All container work

The company I work for does a lot of HS2 work and the occasional jobs moving a few loads for trackwork including rail tamper. An hour from Derby though.

DB Cargo have HGV drivers out of Toton and delivery to various outstations across the UK.

I gave up HGV to drive trains instead, best move I've ever done .
