I applied for a job in the Milton Keynes office at the end of April, and after almost three months I was invited to interview. So along I went, thought it went well. They were interviewing some other candidates, finishing around the 26th July.

I had heard nothing back so I rang the HR people in Manchester and they said there had been no updates on their system regarding the position. I was told to keep checking my account on the Network Rail careers site for updates.

I really liked the position and the people that interviewed me were great, so ideally I'd like to get the job.

Is it typical for NR to take such a long time to offer a position (or decline a candidate)?

Any help would be appreciated

It's railway recruitment. The process is more suitable to measurement in years, not weeks...

I suppose the longer it takes the higher my chances as other candidates become unavailable :)
