How long will legacy Paris Metro stock last

I’m a fan of the old MF67 and MP73 legacy stock on the Paris Metro, the ones with the ‘latch’ to open the doors. Based on a recent visit the MP73 seem to be gradually being replaced on Line 6, but how long do the MF67s on lines 10, 12, 3 and 3bis have? Has anything been said about expected replacement timeframes and/or which line will keep them the longest?

The final withdrawal of MP67 is scheduled for 2031.

The present timescale is

Line 10 - 2025
Line 3bis - 2026
Line 12 - 2028
Line 3 - 2031

MP73s will be retired when all the MP89CC from line 4 will have been converted from 6 to 5 cars. But that seems to be quite a long way out as they have, according to one source, brought back a MP73 from retirement this month

Surprised line 12 is getting new trains before line 3, line 3 is a lot busier. Will be a shame when they go though, it's not the same without being able to flick the door latch open just before the train stops

I agree! I guess maybe Line 3 is last since it’s trains had the (slightly odd in my opinion) refurbishment?

Very likely, the extensive refurb (that included a Passenger information system) having finished in 2007, there are more pressing issues (like on line 10 or 12)

Makes sense, didn't realise the line 12 ones weren't also refurbished

Not the metro stock, but RER (express cross Paris lines), has just received new orders for line D

Already existing orders for NG (nouvelle generation) RER stock, 130 units for line E and 36 units for line D

Newly ordered are another 96 units for line D with delivery through to 2029

This order follows earlier contracts covering 130 trainsets for RER line E and 36 for line D. The latest batch will bring the total number of RER NG trains assigned to the RER D to 132 units by 2029. The rollout started on the Corbeil-Essonnes branch in December 2024, where around ten units are currently in operation.

The RER NG units are replacing the ageing Z2N fleet on most of the RER D line, except for the Malesherbes branch, which remains operated by Regio 2N trains. The current contract aims to consolidate the transition by increasing the number of RER NG trainsets in service and supporting maintenance readiness through associated infrastructure projects.

That likely means that the reliability issues that caused SNCF to pause deliveries have been worked out, which is great
