Unfortunately, this isn't a great sale, since the continuous passes of these durations aren't very good value. The continuous 3 month pass costs 68% more than the 1 month pass (with 20% off), yet offers three times the validity. An offer on the flexi passes would at least have some value.

It's also far less than the 50% off that was offered earlier this year!

The 50% discount was a one-off. We won't be seeing anything like it anytime soon. The regular sales (often in December and March) offer 10 or sometimes 15% discount, so 20% is a bit better than that, albeit for a few passes only.

I might have been tempted but I would prefer a pass that was valid beyond May.

Good luck getting a 50% off sale again.

While not a great offer it may be of value to some forum members. 15 day continuous being only slightly more than 7 day out of 1 month normal pass.

A discount on one of the flexi passes would have suited me more.

That 50% OFF was due to the celebration of 50 yrs of the pass. But it did not last 50 days, I think just 5. And probably it came just in the right time when about everywhere the covid-travel restrictions fell. It was indeed a very busy summer for using it. I had 2- one now used for 3 monthes and another for 2 planned for spring ´23. Living on the continent and holding unlimited off-peak travel anyway in home country makes it a lot easier as needing to use the EuroStar all the times.
Of course one can always ask for more and state that oneś own wishes are badly catered for-but its all also commercial and they seem to have done their homework for that. What was indeed also more a feature in the past was that in slack=winter times the discount would be bigger as in summer-also makes sense in commercial view. And you Brits must be very-extremely well used to railways companies setting fares in a commercial way!

This is all true. I was just commenting that this seems a poor sale in comparison to what we've seen previously, and so I'm kicking myself for not ordering a second pass during the 50% off sale!

20% is a good discount.

What is unusual here is that it is only for some durations, and only for use until May, rather than the usual 11 months.

I am sure the second has happened before - they may have worked out that last summer's anniversary offer caused capacity problems for some operators.

Interrail themselves certainly were unable to provide customer support in a reasonable timeframe all summer, they are not great at the best of times but have been appallingly slow in dealing with issues this year.

That would be my concern too. IR customer services were effectively unreachable in May. I know quite a few people who took advantage of the 50% offer but who haven't yet been able to start their passes (including me) because life's got in the way.

If there's going to be a bulge of 50% passholders starting in April '23 will adding extra custom with this new offer cause further problems?
