Llandudno - Betws-Y-Coed anytime return query

Planning a trip to Snowdonia an a couple of weeks, part of my plan would be the following...

Llandudno Junction - Betws Y Coed
Betws Y Coed - Llandudno
Llandudno - Llandudno Jn

Would an anytime day return from Llandudno to Betws Y Coed cover this journey? The Betws - Llandudno bit doesn't concern me, I'm just wondering if I'm breaking any kind of rule by splittling the outward portion by starting and ending my journey at Llandudno Junction, if this makes sense?

You'd be able to do the first two parts, but not the last part of Llandudno to Llandudno Junction. With you starting short at the Junction, your out portion becomes used at Bewts, and you're fully using your return portion to Llandudno.

An anytime day single Llandudno to Llandudno Junction is only an extra £3.30 though.

You'd need an extra single from Llandudno to Llandudno Junction. You can't use part of the outbound ticket once you've started using the return.
