Am I right in saying that the 10 coach Azuma formations don't show on the departure boards in the same way that the HST, 225 and 9 coach Azuma formations do? I was looking on Tiger departure boards earlier on and noticed that all 10 coach trains don't show a formation. For example, if you look at this page for Doncaster you are unlikely to see the formation of any 10 coach trains to Leeds or London.

Interestingly, the XML view shows details that aren't shown on the graphical pages on the site, such as reservation level and the fact that it's an LNER Azuma for most LNER trains, presumably as this data feed is the same that feeds the departure screens on platforms, but the 10 coach Azumas don't even detail the formation in this view.

I saw a 10 car Azuma at Doncaster a couple of Sundays ago and the formation didn't shown on the screen there either.

Is there a technical reason why it isn't being show currently and is this due to be fixed in the near future?

I'm surprised that no one has commented on this yet as I thought this would have been noticed by someone by now given the 10 cars have been in service for over a month.

Are there stations where the formation does show?

I looked at the platform display on Friday at Kings X and there was no seat display for the 17:03 to Leeds.

Do they have a full fleet in service yet or are they prone to set swaps still? Maybe this is why they dont load the info into the system currently?

The 10-car voyagers on the West Coast work correctly, don't they? Great Western doesn't yet seem to have the functionality at all.

The screens at Reading, Didcot Parkway and Swindon correctly showed the formation of the 10-car set I was travelling on from Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads this past Tuesday (I couldn't see the screens at Chippenham or Bath Spa, but I imagine it showed correctly at those stations as well).

GWR do seem to be able to display them as can be seen in the attached screenshot of Swindon showing three 10 car IET formations. There's also a double Voyager set shown, although coach letters aren't displaying on it for some reason. Also, I can't remember which station it was but when I was looking earlier, it was displaying a couple of two coach services with the letters D and E. I don't know where it got those letters from and whether they were displayed at stations, but I doubt they're right. It looks like most two and three car formations of regional trains are shown as boxes representing coaches with no letters inside.

So GWR can do it but it looks like LNER's system needs some updates to allow double formations to be displayed?

I took the attached screenshot a few days ago. It looks like the 10 car Azumas now show a formation, see the 07:34, although unlike on GWR, it doesn't show it's two separate 5 coach trains. It's progress at least.

Presumably this is now also shown on station screens? Can anyone confirm this?

It isn't at all clear at stations. I got on a ten car from Newcastle to Edinburgh the other day and I only knew where to go because I had a seat booked (First Class in Coach D,) and I knew where that would stop. As I recall the screen just had an unhelpful scrolling diagram of a ten coach train. The station announcer obviously hadn't been told because he did his usual thing and said 'First Class at the rear'. Well it was, but it was in the middle as well.

Not great, but still not as chaotic as the last couple of times I've been on a GWR IET mind you. At least the formation I'd booked on to was the one that turned up.

I don't recall seeing a scrolling one before, unless you mean changing between coach letters and the location of first class etc?

Speaking of which, I wonder why they can show the location of the Cafe Bar and bike storage on a 225 but can't on an Azuma? I don't think it showed it for HST's either.

On the right hand side of the platform screen there was a vertical diagram of the train and it jiggled up and down because the it was too large for the space available, I'm assuming that they can't fit any more than nine. However, it told me nothing about what was where so they may as well not have bothered.
