Hi,

I need to go to Stoke-on-Trent from London Euston on Saturday March 11, preferably to arrive around 15:00, but nationalrail.co.uk shows "No fares available for this journey" for any train over the entire day. Can that be right? Checked thetrainline.co.uk and is the same! Is it really that difficult to book a train 2 weeks in advance? Just did not expect to be an issue.

Many thanks for any insight offered.

Thankyou!

Is this another instance where psuedo-compulsory reservations are "required" but Avanti haven't yet enabled same?

Just buy an off-peak return on the day (£92.90 Tonbridge-Stoke return, any train at weekends, return within 1 month).
At this stage, the route looks un-disrupted, so the 1313 from Euston would get you there by 1443.
There should be Avanti departures from Euston at xx53 and xx13 every hour.
If you really want a reservation for a specific train, you can book nearer the time.
With that fare, you can also use LNR trains (change at Stafford) if things go awry.
