Hi All,

First time post, cannot find details of this question in other posts.

I am looking to travel Runcorn-London on 16/08/2013, returning on 19/08/2013. I am travelling on the 08.52 leving Runcorn, and any train on the sunday on the way home (London Midland Only)

http://brfares.com/#fares?orig=RUN&dest=EUS&rlc=

I have found the SVR OFF-PEAK R, priced at £40 which I can buy from the station.

There are however two tickets for London Zones 1-6, which I understand will include an off-peak travelcard.

FTC OFF-PEAK FAM TC - £41
ODT OFF-PEAK TCDSTD - £43

When I search why do these tickets show as invalid for the journeys I am making? Is it just because the booking engines are rubbish? I would imagine that the ODT one above must be valid but the FTC one will have a restriction?

Also what is the validity of teh travelcard...is it only valid on the day that you arrive, I am assuming not for the return journey day?

Thanks in advance

Off Peak Day Travelcards are only valid on the same day, i.e valid for one journey Runcorn to London Euston, use of Tube, Bus, Trains and Tram within London Z1-6, and then one journey London - Runcorn.

For your journey the Off Peak Return will be valid as you wish to do your journey as mentioned above, but only between Runcorn and London Euston.

When you arrive in London are you requring use of the Tube etc.?

Oh and welcome to the forum :)

Yes. Travelcard fares are only valid for day returns. For period returns, you will need to purchase your ticket to London and the Travelcard(s) separately.

The middle column of general conditions has information of a variety of tickets. If you look closely, you'll see that it has a section for each type of ticket

...weirdly it doesn't display a section for that ticket code. Would this be a bug in brfares or in the data itself?

This is not contained in the raw data.

There are so many fare types, it is impossible to provide an exhaustive list and not break one's computer. (A bit of an exaggeration but you get the picture. ;))

Especially given that the data is formatted in a narrow column to fit on an Avantix screen :)
