Need some advice here.

I lost my Merseytravel rail-only 12 month season ticket a couple of months ago as it seemed to have fallen out of my pocket.

I was issued a replacement and was not charged an admin fee.

Unfortunately, I appear to have someone lost the duplicate ticket now.

Would I still be able to get another if it means paying an admin charge, as this was paid by a salary advance and my employer can ask to see the ticket and fear I could be in trouble at work if I cannot get a replacement.

NRCoT condition 39.2 provides that a second (or more) duplicate may be issued but you may need to attend an interview with the TOC to allay them of any fear that this may be dishonest, and they do not have to issue one.

This assumes Merseyrail Railpasses are issued under the NRCoT and not some other Merseytravel conditions.

As for your employer, if a replacement isn't issued you just need to be honest with them. If you are in a Union you probably want to speak to them first.

Cost over £1k and don't have the money for another. So other duplicate tickets may be issued, subject to an admin fee?

The FAQ page on Merseyrail's website says they'll only issue one duplicate in any 12 month period.

Doesn't hurt to ask anyway, however. Worst that can happen is they say no.

Looks like I'm in trouble at work and I certainly can't afford another grand. :(

It is actually Merseytravel and not Merseyrail.

Not sure why you should be in trouble if you are honest and up front about it. It's your money you may have lost.

If you can't afford an annual up front you'll just have to buy shorter ones as per what you can afford.

Work won`t be bothered about you losing the ticket as your still paying them back from your wages.
What you can`t do though is ask for another season ticket loan until your current loan expires.
There is nothing to stop you asking Merseytravel for a second replacement all they can do is say no.
Good luck !

They already did for the Merseyrail only railcards. Must've been on it for 3 or 4 years now.

It appears however that duplicates are, for some reason I don't quite understand, issued on paper. Unless that's changed, which it may have done.

@DJH1971 Out of interest were your duplicates paper or MetroCard?

They are on paper.

Not sure if I can yet move to a Metro Card.

Appears not:

You will be issued with a replacement paper ticket for the duration of your original Railpass. You will need to purchase another Metro card at the end of your current ticket’s life.

If you ever lose your ticket again in the future I would recommend reporting it at the front desk at Police station and getting a loss report. This means that you have to declare to the police it is genuinely lost and you are given a record which helps back up your claim as being legitimate.

I managed to get a replacement and just cost a £10 admin fee.

Need to keep a much closer eye on it in future.
Great news. I have a leather pouch that is attached to my wallet and my wallet is attached to my trousers with a chain and clip.

This was after I lost two sewaon tickets, but not in the same 12 month period.

Whether that would help you I can't say but it helped me.
