I think I've lost my photocard for my season ticket.

I presume my only option is to get a refund on my current ticket and buy a new one (with new photo card)? Season ticket is not on a smartcard, 6 weeks ticket about 2 weeks into use

Should be able to get a new photocard from a manned ticket office.

You'll need a spare passport photo, obviously.

Might be an admin charge (£10?) for amending/re-issuing the existing season ticket to match the new photocard number.

Probably easiest to sort at the ticket office you bought your season ticket from, given that they'll have your record.

Be for the best not to use the season ticket in the meantime until everything's sorted.

Go to the station where you bought the season, you will be able to get a new photocard and the season will be replaced. A small admin charge may be applied (possibly £10).

You can get a duplicate , just your retailer.
Duplicate photocard? I think not.

Thanks all. I bought online through LNER so presume I can do this at an LNER station?

Yes it's all in a central (to LNER) season record database, why not take the chance to swap to a Smartcard while you're at it?
Ah I likely will do. I think I was under the impression you had to order them to be delivered.

If you want to order online you can have one with your photo on. At the station there's no photo and you'll need a photo for the new photocard.
Interesting. I have a Northern issued smartcard and that doesn't seem to need a photocard despite not having my photo on it!

If the cards are registered (which usually means applying online and waiting a couple of days for one) they are printed with the customer's name on and don't require a photocard. Currently our station issued ones only have the name written on and must be accomapnied by a photocard.

Different TOCs have different policies, but generally if the card doesn't have a photo printed on it, revenue staff may request some form of photo ID. Most people switching from paper tickets to a smartcard will have a photocard, but it could equally be something like a passport or photocard driving licence.

Thanks again for the advice all.

The member of staff at Durham wasn't convinced he'd be able to access details an online purchased season ticket but my half-truth (I told him that someone who worked for LNER at Newcastle station had said he should be able to) persuaded him to look it up and he was able to reissue the ticket with new photocard. So credit to him that he did look it up after I persisted, and that he adapted to it. I decided talking about a switch to a smartcard at that point would overcomplicate matters as there was only one person working at the ticket office and a couple of customers had arrived during the transaction, but will do so in the new year when I next get a season.
