IMG_9381.jpegDespite Today being a strike day it certainly weren’t stopping the western for anything! D1015 heads through Oxford off to Eastleigh for the upcoming Gala at Swanage. Had to dash out for this working as it came by incredibly early!

IMG_8202.jpegWent for a trip up to Crewe Last month despite the grand national also occurring that day it was a hit and miss for traffic but I largely wasn’t impacted. Anyway on the approach to Crewe passing Basford hall was a Freightliners 47830 (D1645) ‘Beechings legacy’ stabled. There were plenty of others in the yard as well including a few 90s a handful of 66s and a couple 70s (other images below this message)

Good evening Folks. Brand new video dropped yesterday, from a rather heavily windy Didcot Parkway (Hence the Warning): Seeing services from:
GWR (800, 802, 387, 165)
XC (220, 221)
Freight from: DB, Freightliner, GBRF, Colas, DC Rail (60, 66 and 70)

a couple of little appearances from:
- DC Rail 60029 on an aggregate up to Appleford sidings
- 66846 dragging a brand new Tamper DR75017
As always Enjoy :)

Thanks for posting these. The Didcot video takes me back; I lived in Bicester 1991-93 (before Bicester Village existed):

I'd take a Bicester Town to Didcot service, before that station closed and when the line to Oxford was single track. All sorts of 1st gen DMU on that: 101, 104, 108, 117, 119, 121.

Didcot stabling lines next to the station, on my visits, would be filled with 37s and 47s. And always an 08 or 09 pottering about.

Bicester Central Ordnance Depot was still open and received regular trains of coal and munitions/supplies in 4-wheel coal hoppers and vans, latterly in container wagons. 37s and 47s were usual motive power on those.

Didcot Power Station was in full use; I'd watch processions of 58s and 60s on the MGRs.

Calvert-Avonmouth "binliner" (domestic waste containers) used Didcot's west curve and in the hands of a 47, 56 or 58.

56s and 59/1s also led the (now ceased) Whatley-Wolverton ARC 4-wheel hoppers, down the old Oxford to Bletchley line. Amazing to think it's now double track and East-West-Rail's services in 2025.

56s sometimes paired up on Redland's self-discharge hopper workings.
.
Not a single overhead wire or Shed!
