western champion was originally withdrawn in 1976, so its survived for 48 years.
Which got me thinking, what mainline registered loco or coaching stock even, has survived the longest , since being , first withdrawn

Any mainline steam has had at least 56 years since withdrawal, and Flying Scotsman is probably the highest at 61.

46100 Royal Scot is mainline certified. It was withdrawn in October 1962, three months before Flying Scotsman.
