Hi folks, don;t know if i'm in right place to post this but looking for advice on the following.
We are going to Piccadilly station and staying at Premiere Inn Portland on Thursday, young one is going to concert at arena that night, is it within walking distance from our hotel or would bus/taxi/tram be best bet.
Also, our friends who are travelling down with us are staying at Premiere Printworks, what station should they alight at ?
Cheers in advance for any help given.

You can walk Portland - Arena, but if it's raining you'll want to catch a Bury-bound or Shaw-bound tram from St Peter's Square to Victoria.

Printworks is right next door to Victoria, and the adjacent tram stop Shudehill.

You're spoilt for choice really. Everything is a 15 minute walk from Piccadilly. If it's a nice day come out of Piccadilly's main entrance, walk down the ramp onto London Rd keeping facing roughly the same direction, after about 200 yards London road will become 'Piccadilly' and will bend left and become Portland St. Walk 10 minutes to the very end and the hotel is on your right.
However, if the weather is rubbish, you could cross to platform 14 at Piccadilly and get the train one stop to Oxford Rd Station. From Oxford road you're only 4 or 5 minutes from the Premier Inn.
From your hotel, the MEN is a 10 minute walk through the city centre and is above Victoria station.
As for your friends, if they're alighting at Pic with you - they can take a tram to Shudehill as mentioned above. As they step off the tram the Printworks are to their 2-o'clock, 30 seconds away.
