Hello.
Long time reader and occasional poster.
Can anyone who has attended both of these be kind enough to share what you're expected to wear please?
Thanks.

I was jeans and a jacket for my medical. Yesterday got my letter for my induction in january and it actualy states "smart dress, no jeans, trainers etc is acceptable". This is for greater anglia so not sure what other companies will expect but id say go in shirt/suit to play it safe.

Indeed. Take a suit and tie, if you feel overdressed put your jacket on the back of your seat and take off your tie.

medical - Jeans and a shirt - medical was done by an outside company and I would rather have been comfortable than "look the part "

Induction - I wore a suit the first day ,Letter said no sports clothing or trainers in school . when it became apparent that everyone else was just in shirt and trousers I left the jacket the next day then at the end of my first week my uniform came which I was expected to wear .

Smart for company induction - shirt, trousers, shoes etc but doesn't really matter what you wear for medical, I wore jeans, T-shirt and hoddie for my drivers medical. Medical is done by an external company so you don't need to worry about impressing them.

I wore a suit and tie for my induction back in the day in and I felt very overdosed. Jeans and a polo shirt were fine for medical with FGW

It's GTR you're starting with isn't it mate? Induction at Kentish Town? Smart casual is fine, honest . You don't even need a tie. It's very relaxed. You'll enjoy it, there is a lot of serious stuff but by and large it's informal and fun.

I'd lose the shirt and tie after my first day mate :)

If you don't turn up in a shirt and tie and everyone else has then your going to wish you had

If it's relaxed on the first day then you can lose the tie buyt I would definitely wear a shirt and tie at least on my first day :)
