Metrolink Standard Fare

I have received a standard fare from Metrolink using contactless. I had tapped in and out several times on the day, and missed a tap out when I checked my journey history, so my next tap in three hours later was a tap out.

I have appealed, will this have a decent chance of success?

I have a attached my history for that day, the previous journey was Ashton under Lyne to Sale Water Park

If you failed to tap in/out correctly your chances of a successful appeal are somewhere between slim and none.

That screenshot shows a failed ticket inspection. Did you have your card checked on the tram by an inspector?

Yes, I assumed it was fine because I'd just tapped in two minutes earlier, not knowing I hadn't tapped out earlier

Only 2 minutes short of the first journey timing out, so will be obvious to anyone looking at it the journeys you actually made. Looks like you have to pay the penalty fare and then appeal rather than appealing before paying it.

I believe I touched in correctly for my journey before this inspection

Please complete and submit appeal form.
Please note: We are only able to process an appeal once the penalty fare charge has left your account.

Yes, because it was contactless the payment has gone out already, that was how I noticed it

Got an email confirming my appeal was successful yesterday and money appeared in my account today, very efficient process and they used common sense
