I've tried to capture the shows and the layouts to show them at their best, and have also interviewed some of the layout builders. Hope you like them

I'm creating a series of videos on model railway scenery painting tips. Here's my first on marbling - a technique I'm using on my monochrome model railway - Brief Encounter. There'll be lots more tutorials coming soon - including some for children - as it's great to get younger people involved in the hobby.

This is my fully monochrome exhibition layout, 'BRIEF ENCOUNTER, based on the iconic British film directed by David Lean and set around a chance romantic meeting at a railway station. I really wanted to recreate that vintage black and white film effect - to do that I ended up using 32 shades of grey!

In my video I also show the layout at build stage and some of the problems and solutions I had to overcome along the way, including how to feature as many well known aspects and scenes from the film as I could. The layout is 11ft x 2ft and includes a fully-working 1940s cinema playing the film. I also share some fascinating facts about the making of the film. I hope you get my quirky humour

Welcome to the forum. :)
It’s a very interesting concept and I enjoyed watching the video earlier. Thanks for posting it.

Here's my interview with Julian Evison - Chair of the OO9 Society. It was a real pleasure to meet Julian and, hopefully, more interviews and OO9 content coming soon and also a nice piece on the same page about the stunning N gauge 'Dover Night Ferry'

What's your go-to kit for buildings on your model railway layouts? I've used cardboard and plastic in the past - but for the Brief Encounter monochrome model railway I had to do something different and use laser cut 3mm plywood - the first time I've ever worked with it.
I definitely found lots of pros - and just a few minor cons - with laser cut. Here's a review.

I loved filming today's episode - the first in a series called Inside The Model Railway Club. Today we were at Headcorn - where I spoke to Yvonne and Brian Chapman., and the absolute star of the show - Jack! Have a watch - he'll cheer you right up!

It’s been around 20 years since the launch of a new N Gauge Class 66 model loco design… but now there’s an exciting brand new model in town, this one from Revolution Trains.

I sit down with Ben Ando, co founder of Revolution Trains to talk about the launch of the company's new model and why it's set to become the definitive N gauge Class 66 for the next generation.

Ben talks about the model's exciting new features and liveries, and a game changing loco numbering service designed to help you create your own unique stock.
