I am fairly confident from looking at the routeing guide that Moothorpe could take Wakefield as a routeing point for a journey to Durham. It appears to pass the fare check rule and does not violate any of the other criteria for choosing a succcessful routeing point. This would undoubtably make it valid via Leeds. However, ticket booking sites seem to suggest that it is only valid via Pontefract. What is the definitive answer on this?

Moorthorpe - Durham
Anytime Day Single
Route Any Permitted
£36.20

Wakefield Stations - Durham
Anytime Single
Route Any Permitted
£44.00
Anytime Day Single
Route Leeds
£36.20

My understanding is that Wakefield Group passes the fares check rule if and only if you go via Leeds.

That's what I thought too, but East Coast certainly won't sell a ticket for it.

The only booking engine that will sell you this ticket seems to be thetrainline ones. Virgintrains.co.uk will happily sell me this ticket changing at WKF onto an XC Vomiter going via Leeds.
