What joy. My first (and hopefully last) m-ticket. Purchased on the company Trainline account for a business trip.

Did not make it clear on purchase (or I didn’t notice) that it was an m-ticket). Just checked - it says ‘Send ticket to your mobile phone’. That’s open to interpretation.

It was that or paper. I’m back to paper again after this.

Why is this still even a thing?

Yours, disappointed

Is it for a Scotrail journey? I thought most train operators had moved fully to eTickets, with Scotrail as the exception.

Is this not perhaps a foible of Trainline's corporate booking system?

I've just tried East Croydon to St Pancras and the consumer version of Trainline will happily sell an e-ticket for instance.

Perhaps I’m not sure. I rarely use it

Easy way to check would be to put the journey into thetrainline.com and see what delivery option it offers (it'll ask you to create an account, but you just choose to checkout as a guest and give it any old thing as an email address).

Given that Trainline don't use the national TOC controlled system for determining these things, then I think whatever happened is likely to be on them.

That’s really bizarre. I didn’t think m-tickets were on that flow. A dying breed.
