Network Rail Corporate Travel season ticket

Hi all.

I have recently joined NR and applied for the season ticket through Abellio. I've just received my ticket and my discount is £2750 out of £5768, which would be nearly a 50% discount. I was led to believe that the discount would be 75% of the total price of the ticket or have I missed something?

I think I remember reading that NR staff were subject to a cap on the maximum discount that can be taken off the season. So it's 75% .. if and only if your season ticket doesn't exceed £3333.33

That is correct but the RMT made a deal a couple of years ago if I remember correct to remove the cap, so it should be 75% of the total now. I will give them a call on Monday to clarify.

Hi there. NR sent me a letter regarding the repayments of the ticket which were incorrect. Then, I contacted the ticket people, and was told that the discount is 75% and the letter from NR is incorrect as they have not updated their system and the calculations in everyone’s letter are incorrect. Do not worry about it at all. You will see the correct discount applied.

TLDR: Yes discount is 75%. NR System is outdated and they’re issuing incorrect calculations letters.

Yes it’s a taxable benefit in kind.
